About me
I am interested in you and your story. When folks are invited to talk about the things that have happened to them, and feel heard when they do, something inside them shifts. These small shifts—moments of bearing witness—are when healing begins to happen.
"I feel like I'm stuck in the past." "I don't know how to make sense of what's happened to me." “I don’t know who I am.” Sound familiar? If you've ever said these words to yourself (I know I certainly have), I invite you on a journey of discovering who you are beyond what you've had to do to survive; to turn toward your inner wisdom and strengths; to build connection with yourself and with others; and to recognize your self-value and self-worth as differentiated from what you do and/or from what’s happened to you.
I collaborate with clients to help them heal from, adjust to, and accept the difficulties of the past, so that they can thrive in the present and look to the future. Work centers on empowering folks to (re)claim control of their own narratives in order to move through challenges and stuckness, and into resilience, thriving, and living their fullest lives.
I have worked with diverse populations that include children, teens, adults, and families in community behavioral health, and adults in group practice. I have also worked alongside survivors of complex trauma, co-creating safe spaces and trusting relationships, while bearing witness to their stories, healing, and thriving. I focus not on asking, “What is wrong?” but on “What has happened?”
I honor and welcome individuals of all identities and have an especial interest in holding space with members of the Asian diaspora. Clinical approach is rooted in compassionate, agency-promoting, culturally affirming, & trauma-informed practice. I view all individuals through relational-cultural and holistic lenses in the contexts of the systems that impact them.
