About me
I'm an experienced psychotherapist I help anxious and overwhelmed neurodiverse teens and adults learn to work with their brain, rather than against it, as well a cope with anxiety and/or depression that may be complicating their ADHD and/or AuDHD struggles. Together we can work on what would feel most helpful, which might include building self-worth, healthy coping skills, lifestyle changes, relationship and communication, and personalized ways to manage stress and life's ups and downs. If you get stuck in overthinking, overwhelm or chaos, you're not alone. You may feel paralyzed looking at your to-do list, and bridging knowing to doing feels impossible some days. Many of my neurodiverse ADHD adult and teen clients have struggled with procrastination, change, big emotions, shame, feeling misunderstood, and "too much," yet not "enough." If you've been struggling to trust yourself, feeling frozen in overwhelm and indecision, I’m here to help.
I have worked in helper roles for over 15 years with youth, adults and families in various settings, often based in education, with the last 10 years as a psychotherapist. I have a warm, thoughtful and personal style. My approach is neurodiversity affirming, trauma-informed, and holistic(whole person) and strength focused. I connect especially with clients who are creative, who struggle with their inner critical voice, and who sometimes (or often) get lost on their way to creating the life they want. Some of the challenges my clients seek help for are dealing difficult life transitions, anxiety, depression, ADHD, Autisms or AuDHD, self-esteem, identity issues, and grief, among others. My previous background in education and art has been useful at times if my clients are navigating challenges as students or in working in the creative world. I grew up in California in a blended, multicultural, and multilingual family, which has been a source of strength and learning as well as giving me perspective in my work. I hold space for those painful moments and walk with people through the dark. At other times, we may bring in humor because laughter can be healing in itself.
Together, we’ll work to use your strengths and help you to feel calmer, filter the noise, and create balance in your life so you can feel more connected to yourself and others.
