About me
I specialize in working with neurodivergent folks who were diagnosed later in life and have experienced invalidation or little "t" traumas in childhood which may or may not have led to Big "T" traumas. I know that you are doing the best you can at all times, sometimes that means checking off all of the things on the to-do list, and other times, that means stumbling out of bed only to use the bathroom. Let me assist you in reconnecting to their needs, preferences, opinions, and desires to live their most authentic life. We will connect in a safe space for you to heal from your past and live the life you deserve.
If you feel trapped by your expected and accepted role, I can help you by fostering self-acceptance and self-compassion, in whatever form that takes. My clinical work encompasses attachment, psychodynamic, family systems, cognitive behavioral, gender-affirming, alternative relationships, trauma-focused, and mindfulness-based modalities.
I’m here to help you create the meaningful lasting changes that you want in your life.
We both know you have already read the books, listened to the podcasts, and gone on those weekend retreats that promise a changed life. Well, yes, those are totally fun and inspiring, and you learn a lot about yourself, but the “live laugh love” vibe dies in a couple of weeks, or if you are lucky, months, and you are back on that old highway singing, “how did I get here?”
Together we can create lasting change by processing those insights and others along the way and creating a plan to continue that work. Even after you get back on that old highway, especially in times of stress, you know it will just be a detour, and we will get you back on the road “home”.
We will work together in a non-judgemental safe space to explore who you are, what you want out of life, and why you want them. We will discuss what you hope the changes will bring and what it would feel like to have those desires realized.
We will look at your past through the lens of present-day situations or interactions to gain insight into what drives your actions and reactions. We will find those protected parts of yourself that want to see the light of day but have been hidden away and create a life that supports those more vulnerable parts to have the confidence to let the “freak flag fly” and be the authentic you.
