About me
I am an experienced couples and individual therapist who specializes in first responder care, complex trauma, loss, relationship issues, anxiety and depression. I am trained in and utilize EMDR, Integrated Sex and Couples Therapy, Gottman couples techniques, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I am a dually licensed therapist in the state of Arizona since 2004, an AZ Board Approved Clinical Supervisor and a licensed therapist in Minnesota since 2023. Prior to my professional mental health career, I was a City of Phoenix police officer and FTO, who came into law enforcement with experience as a Victim Advocate for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in Major Crimes, Vehicular Homicides and Sex Crimes cases. I am a past and present spouse of a first responder, which provides her lived experiences of the dynamics of first responder marriages, along with her personal experiences as a first responder. I have over 25 years of experience as a mental health clinician, having worked in tribal communities, health care systems, university and community college settings, faith-based communities, and private practice settings. I am a certified first responder counselor, a certified clinical trauma professional, certified integrative sex and couples therapist, EMDR and Advanced EMDR therapist, and a Gottman trained couples therapist who provides individual and couples therapy. I specialize in treating mood disorders, addictions, complex trauma, relationship issues, PTSD, moral injury, grief, chronic health conditions and spiritual struggles. My approach in therapy is direct yet compassionate, offering reflective challenges from a values-driven and calm perspective. Identify sabotaging patterns that negatively impact your world and developing sustainable responses that are healthy is a common focal point in my collaborative therapeutic care with you. Away from work, I enjoy skydiving and doing life with my amazing humans and dogs, listening to great live music, and working out.
