Hi, I'm Kitt! I'm the owner of Defiant Therapy, LLC, a practice that offers an affirming space for clients to embrace "defiance" - a sense of trust in oneself that leads you to challenge expectations. I offer individual, relationship, and family therapy in-person at my shared office on York Rd and virtually through telehealth.

I am an LGPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor) providing therapy and counseling in the Baltimore, MD area. I use they/them pronouns, and I identify as trans and nonbinary. I practice therapy as a means to break down systems of oppression through individual and community empowerment, relationship building, and skills development. I enjoy working “beyond the binary” with all of my clients, helping you to hold space for multiple truths while also remaining true to yourself. I value creating relationships with clients that allow them to be free to discover their expansiveness, care for the parts of themself that need tenderness and fierce compassion, and get clear about the change they need and the acceptance they deserve. I work with individuals (adults and adolescents), relationships of two or more, and families who want and need this radical space.

I encourage clients to bring their full self to therapy. I have training and education in working with clients of diverse experience, and I center my work in an understanding of marginalization and oppression. Although I may not share the same lived experience, I intentionally work to connect across difference by building a strong and trusting relationship. I use techniques from EMDR, IFS, Mindfulness, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, and other approaches to help clients find their way to true authenticity.
