About me
I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2010. I worked as a school counselor at the junior high level for several years before moving to private practice, which led to my passion for working with children. I work with children, aged 4 and up, using play therapy techniques, which can help young children express themselves in a creative way. In addition to working individually with children, I provide support and tools to help parents. I enjoy teaching Love and Logic skills and strategies to help families raise happy and well-behaved kids using logical consequences, applied with empathy.
My passion is working with clients who have experienced a traumatic event. With children and adolescents, I use my training in the SITCAP model to help alleviate the symptoms of PTSD. I use my training from the Strong Star Initiative in Prolonged Exposure and/or Cognitive Processing Therapy, forms of CBT therapy, to address PTSD symptoms in adults.
