About me
I offer trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy grounded in safety, connection, and healing.
Welcome. I’m Kimberley Richardson, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) based in Massachusetts. I provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy for adolescents, adults, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, and major life transitions.
My work is grounded in the understanding that many people seeking therapy are not “broken,” but exhausted from surviving systems, relationships, or experiences that required them to be strong for far too long. Therapy with me is a space to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and begin healing in a way that feels respectful, collaborative, and human.
I bring a relational, strengths-based approach to my work, integrating evidence-based practices with deep attention to culture, identity, and lived experience. I draw from models including trauma-informed care, attachment-based work, cognitive and behavioral approaches, and culturally responsive frameworks to meet each client where they are.
Clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, guarded, or unsure whether therapy will actually help. I understand that hesitation, especially for those who have felt misunderstood or unsupported in previous systems of care. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to move at your own pace.
I am especially passionate about supporting individuals who are cycle-breakers, caregivers, professionals, and those navigating complex family or community dynamics. I also have extensive experience working alongside clients from marginalized communities and understand the importance of therapy that acknowledges both personal and systemic realities.
Therapy with me is not about fixing you. It’s about helping you feel safer in your body, clearer in your choices, and more connected to yourself and your life.
