About me
About me
Sometimes you can look like you’re coping on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, disconnected or exhausted underneath.
You may be someone who thinks deeply, feels things intensely, struggles to switch off, or has spent years adapting yourself to what other people need. Perhaps you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, relationships, a life transition, or the effects of experiences that have left you feeling unsettled in yourself.
You don’t have to arrive at therapy with everything figured out.
I’m Keziah, a qualified person-centred counsellor, yoga practitioner and equine-informed therapist. I offer a calm, compassionate space for adults and young people to slow down, make sense of what they’re experiencing, and develop a stronger sense of connection with themselves.
My approach is relational and person-centred. Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model, I work collaboratively with you, paying attention to your individual experiences, relationships, emotions and needs.
I’m particularly interested in working with people who may feel overwhelmed by life, disconnected from themselves, or who have spent a long time trying to manage, achieve or hold everything together.
My work is informed by a trauma-aware and body-based perspective. With your consent, we may gently explore the relationship between your thoughts, emotions and physical experience — for example, noticing tension, overwhelm or patterns in your nervous system and developing ways of feeling more grounded and safe.
There is no pressure to do this. Talking, reflecting and being heard may be exactly what you need.
Clients often describe me as calm, thoughtful, warm and attuned. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship where you don’t have to perform, explain everything perfectly or have the “right” words.
If you’re looking for somewhere to pause, understand yourself more deeply and begin to feel more at home in yourself, I’d be happy to hear from you.
I offer in-person sessions in Bridgend, as well as telephone and online counselling.
What sessions are like
There isn’t a set formula for therapy with me.
Some sessions may involve talking through something that has happened, exploring relationships or understanding longstanding patterns. At other times, we might slow things down and pay attention to what is happening emotionally or physically in the moment.
Where appropriate, I may introduce gentle grounding, breathing or body-awareness practices. These are always optional, collaborative and adapted to you.
We will regularly review how therapy is feeling and what you need from our work together.
My aim is to offer a consistent space where you can be honest, curious and understood without judgement.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a degree in Youth and Community Work and am a qualified person-centred counsellor and yoga practitioner. My professional background spans counselling, youth work, alternative education, equine-assisted therapeutic settings and body-based practice.
I have over five years’ experience working within alternative education and therapeutic environments, including equine-assisted work with Liberty Horses CIC. I supported young people and adults who were often disengaged from mainstream education or services, including individuals experiencing emotional distress, trauma, behavioural difficulties and involvement with social services.
This experience developed my understanding of the importance of trust, consistency, relational safety and meeting people where they are.
My yoga training and therapeutic practice have also given me a particular interest in embodiment, stress, the nervous system and the ways emotional experiences can show up physically.
I bring these perspectives into counselling carefully and ethically, rather than assuming that body-based work is appropriate for everyone. Your preferences, boundaries and consent remain central to the work.
I have experience offering counselling in person and remotely, including telephone and online sessions, and I am committed to ongoing supervision, professional development and reflective practice.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within its ethical framework.
Areas I work with
I work particularly well with clients experiencing:
Anxiety and overthinking
Burnout and overwhelm
Low self-esteem and self-confidence
Neurodivergence and feeling different
ADHD and autism-related challenges
High sensitivity
Work-related stress
Life transitions and identity
Relationship difficulties
Social anxiety
Trauma and its ongoing impact
Grief and loss
Bullying and difficulties with belonging
Career uncertainty and work pressures
Separation and divorce
Money worries
Young people’s emotional wellbeing
I also welcome clients who don’t necessarily have a diagnosis or clearly defined problem but have a sense that something isn’t quite right.
A particular interest in neurodivergence
I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent clients and people who have spent a long time feeling that they don’t quite fit the expectations around them.
Therapy can provide space to explore masking, overwhelm, self-esteem, relationships, identity, burnout, sensory experiences and the impact of continually adapting yourself to fit in.
You don’t need to justify your experience or prove that things are “bad enough” to seek support.
My approach
Person-centred
Relational
Trauma-aware
Body-aware
Compassionate
Collaborative
Non-judgemental
I don’t believe therapy is about fixing you. It is about creating enough safety and space to understand yourself more fully, recognise what you need, and explore what might help you move forward.
If you’re unsure whether counselling with me might be a good fit, you’re welcome to get in touch and we can explore this together.
