About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience providing evidence-based therapeutic services to adolescents and adults across a range of clinical settings. As an Officer in the Army National Guard, I have had the privilege of supporting Veterans and Soldiers through culturally attuned and compassionate counseling. I bring advanced clinical expertise in the treatment of mood disorders, trauma, and insomnia, with a deep commitment to cultural competence and individualized care in today’s diverse and evolving world.

As a therapist, I believe healing begins when people feel safe, seen, and understood. That’s why I make it my priority to meet clients exactly where they are—offering not only clinical expertise, but also genuine curiosity, cultural humility, and deep respect for each person’s unique journey. My approach is grounded in research-based interventions, but it’s shaped by authentic human connection and the understanding that lasting growth is only possible when therapy feels collaborative and real.

I am a certified practitioner of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with advanced training in CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I)—a highly effective, evidence-based treatment for individuals who find themselves lying awake at night, consumed by racing thoughts, or trapped in unhelpful sleep routines. I help clients better understand the relationship between sleep, behavior, and mindset. Together, we dismantle rigid sleep beliefs, challenge unproductive thought patterns, and implement practical changes that restore balance, rest, and peace of mind. Whether you’re struggling with falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking too early, I use CBT-I techniques to guide you step-by-step toward healthier sleep without medication dependence.

In addition to my work with insomnia and mood-related conditions, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a powerful modality used to process traumatic experiences and reduce the emotional charge of distressing memories. My use of EMDR is thoughtful and tailored, depending on each client’s readiness and ability to engage in virtual bilateral stimulation. Because EMDR can bring up intense material, I carefully evaluate suitability during the early assessment process, particularly in Phase 2—the resource-building phase. It is during this phase that we work on developing grounding skills such as the “Calm Place” and “Container” exercises. These techniques help clients create inner safety and emotional stability before any reprocessing begins. For some clients, EMDR becomes a cornerstone of their healing; for others, we may choose different tools based on their needs and comfort with the process.

My clients often come to me feeling weighed down by unspoken pain, unresolved trauma, or patterns that keep repeating despite their best efforts to change. Many are high-functioning but quietly overwhelmed—tired of coping alone and ready to break free from survival mode. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, burnout, trauma-related symptoms, or difficulty with relationships or sleep, I strive to help you slow down, tune in, and begin rewriting the internal narratives that no longer serve you.

Therapy with me is not about surface-level solutions or quick fixes. It’s about showing up with honesty and courage, and allowing space for the hard, beautiful work of change. I collaborate closely with each client to identify what’s getting in the way, whether it’s old wounds, critical self-talk, emotional avoidance, or stressors from daily life. I believe deeply in the therapeutic relationship as a space where healing unfolds—not because I have all the answers, but because we explore the questions together.

My style is warm, direct, and grounded. I bring my full presence into the room, and I work hard to ensure my clients feel heard without being rushed, guided without being judged, and challenged without being overwhelmed. I integrate a range of interventions beyond CBT, CBT-I, and EMDR, including mindfulness-based practices, somatic grounding strategies, and narrative reframing—all tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to help you build insight, regulate your emotions, strengthen your coping skills, and begin to trust your own inner wisdom again.

For many, therapy becomes a space where they can finally let their guard down—a space where it’s okay to not have it all figured out. And in that space, transformation begins. We work together to uncover not only what’s broken, but also what’s resilient, hopeful, and whole within you. I believe healing is not just about symptom relief, but about building a fuller, richer, and more authentic life.

If you’re navigating trauma, insomnia, depression, anxiety, or simply feeling stuck, you are not alone—and you don’t have to carry it all by yourself anymore. Whether it’s learning how to sleep again, processing the past, or gaining tools to cope with everyday stress, I am here to support you. The journey isn’t always easy, but with the right support, it’s absolutely possible.

Let’s take that first step together.
