About me

I specialize in helping high-achieving adults who look “fine” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, burned out, or emotionally exhausted underneath, particularly those that identify as neurodivergent.

Hi, I’m Dr. Kay. I’m a Doctor of Social Work (DSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with 17 years of experience in behavioral health.

I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, life transitions, relationship stress, and the pressure that can come with being the person who is expected to keep everything together. I have a particular interest in supporting Black women and other marginalized individuals who are accustomed to functioning well—even when they are overwhelmed underneath.

My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and practical. Therapy with me is not about telling you what to do or forcing you to unpack experiences you are not ready to address. We slow things down, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop tools that actually fit your life. I bring warmth, humor, curiosity, and directness into the room, and I believe you can be both supported and challenged in therapy.

I also understand that insight alone does not always create change. Our work may include learning to regulate your nervous system, strengthening boundaries, challenging patterns that no longer serve you, and making intentional choices that align with the life you want—not simply the life you have learned to manage.

In addition to psychotherapy, I provide clinical supervision for MSW-level clinicians and consultation for licensed professionals.
