About me
As a trauma therapist, I specialize in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals dealing with the lasting effects of trauma. Drawing from my 25 years of experience as a paramedic and 10 years in the U.S. Air Force, I offer a unique understanding of the challenges faced by first responders, military personnel, and others who have experienced high-stress and traumatic situations. I utilize approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, and mindfulness techniques to help clients process their experiences, build resilience, and regain a sense of control in their lives.
I love doing this work because it allows me to give back to a community I deeply understand and care about. Helping others find healing, strength, and hope after trauma is incredibly rewarding, and I am honored to support my clients on their journey toward recovery and well-being.
Hi, I’m Ken O’Hearn, a Gulf War veteran, retired paramedic, and trauma therapist. For over 25 years, I served on the front lines of emergencies, witnessing firsthand the weight that critical incidents leave behind. Now, I specialize in helping others carry that weight differently—so it no longer defines or controls their lives.
I work with veterans, EMS professionals, first responders, and trauma survivors who struggle with flashbacks, anxiety, hypervigilance, and strained relationships. My approach is trauma-focused, compassionate, and practical, using evidence-based therapies like EMDR, RTM, CBT, and CPT. These methods help reduce symptoms of PTSD, reprocess painful memories, and build tools for resilience and peace. What sets me apart is not only my training but my lived experience. I understand the culture of service, the unspoken pressures, and the impact of unseen wounds. In our work together, you’ll find a safe space where you don’t have to explain what it means to carry trauma—I’ve been there.
Healing is possible. My mission is to walk beside you, helping you move from surviving to thriving.
