About me

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Clients can expect a compassionate, affirming space where your story is honored and your goals matter. Whether you're navigating trauma, life transitions, or emotional pain, I’m here to walk with you and support your journey toward healing and authentic self-connection. My team and I work with a variety of clients with a variety of concerns. I invite you to come in and meet the team!

My Team:
Kiya Black, LMSW - Behavioral Health Clinician - Onsite in-person and telehealth
Ashley Ramirez Garcia, MS, RDN, LDN - Bilingual Registered Dietitian - Onsite in-person and telehealth
Maria Garcia, LPC-MHSP - Bilingual Behavioral Health Clinician Contractor - Telehealth Only

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Tennessee and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Mississippi and Arkansas, as well as a proud graduate of the University of Memphis School of Social Work. With 22 years of experience in the non-profit sector—including the past eight providing mental and behavioral health therapy—I work with children and adults across a wide range of concerns, including chronic illness (HIV/AIDS), sexual and reproductive health, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, grief, complex trauma, and relationship challenges. I am a trauma-informed clinician with specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brainspotting, and I use an eclectic, client-centered approach that honors each person as the expert in their own life.

As a program director, I also oversee the development and delivery of services such as individual and group therapy, care coordination, and medication linkage. I also oversee our Medical Nutrition Therapy program that is staffed with our Registered Dietitian. Our holistic programs—including Anger Management, Substance Use, Seeking Safety, Mind, Body & Soul Food, and cooking/nutrition classes—aim to reduce barriers and promote overall wellness.

My primary office in Midtown Memphis is wheelchair accessible and easy to locate, and I also offer telehealth sessions Monday through Friday by appointment. The initial visit focuses on building rapport and gathering information to guide meaningful, client-led work in future sessions.

My Team:
Kiya Black, LMSW is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi, and a trauma-informed clinician practicing within a liberation-based framework. Drawing from an eclectic range of modalities—including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—I work with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, people living with HIV/AIDS, unhoused individuals, youth, and those navigating co-occurring disorders or relationship challenges related to trauma, communication, or boundaries. I am passionate about supporting clients in accessing the healing needed to live authentically and fully, and my approach is rooted in the belief that each person holds the wisdom and strength to guide their own healing. I currently offer both in-person and telehealth individual therapy sessions.

Ashley Ramirez Garcia, MS, RDN, LDN is a bilingual Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (MS, RDN, LDN) offering inclusive, client-centered, and trauma-informed care grounded in the principles of Body Trust®, Intuitive Eating, and Health at Every Size® (HAES®). I support individuals in building a positive relationship with food, culture, and their bodies, and strive to create a compassionate, affirming space where clients feel seen, respected, and empowered to define health on their own terms. I provide nutrition therapy both in person and via telehealth. Outside of my practice, I enjoy puzzles, reading, learning guitar, and, most of all, spending time with my family.

Maria Garcia, LPC-MHSP is a Licensed Professional Counselor with an MHSP designation and eight years of experience working with teens, adults, and couples navigating grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and cultural challenges. I use a collaborative, culturally sensitive approach grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and reshape unhelpful thought patterns, build practical coping skills, and foster emotional well-being. As a bilingual therapist fluent in Spanish and English, I prioritize clear communication and connection, incorporating multicultural therapy to honor each client’s unique background. My work is centered on growth, healing, and empowerment in a supportive and inclusive environment. I currently offer therapy sessions exclusively via telehealth.
