About me

Maybe you’ve gotten really good at pushing through, taking care of what needs to be done, showing up for everyone else, or telling yourself you’re fine, while underneath it all you may be feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted. Maybe something difficult happened in your past that still affects you today, or you’re simply at a point where you know something needs to change but aren’t sure where to begin.

Hi, I’m Kaylee, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I believe human beings have an innate capacity to heal. Trauma, difficult relationships, loss, and life experiences can sometimes disconnect us from ourselves and make it harder to trust what we’re feeling or what we need. Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of those experiences, and begin reconnecting with yourself.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy, and you don’t need to know exactly what to say. My role isn’t to “fix” you. Instead, we will work together to understand what you’re experiencing, notice patterns that may no longer be serving you, and gently build tools that help you feel more grounded and confident as you move forward.

I have experience supporting adolescents and adults experiencing trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions. My background includes school-based counseling, supporting survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, and providing therapy to refugees who have experienced war, displacement, trauma, and significant transitions.

I practice primarily from a trauma-informed and person-centered perspective, with a deep respect for the connection between the mind and body. Sometimes we understand intellectually that we are safe or that something is over, yet the body continues to respond as though the threat is still present. Therapy can help us begin to notice, understand, and gently work with those responses rather than feeling controlled by them.

Depending on your needs, our work may include grounding and somatic techniques, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), practical coping strategies, and exploration of the experiences and patterns influencing your life today. I tailor therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit into one particular approach.

I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that can help people process traumatic or distressing experiences. When appropriate, we can explore whether EMDR might be helpful for your goals.

Whether you are carrying something from the past, struggling with what is happening right now, or simply feeling stuck, you do not have to have the answers before beginning therapy. We can start exactly where you are.
