About me
I am passionate about helping children strengthen their ability to express and regulate emotions and increase confidence while supporting parents to increase joy and overall functioning within the family system.
I have extensive experience working with children and parents and provide counseling services for children ages 3–18, as well as parents. My approach is warm, compassionate, and relationship-based. I utilize play therapy to help younger children express emotions, process experiences, and develop healthy coping skills in ways that are natural, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Human Development and a Master of Social Work degree, along with specialized training in play therapy. Before becoming a therapist, I taught preschool for several years, which deepened my understanding of child development and the unique emotional and behavioral needs of young children. I have experience working with older children and teenagers who are navigating social, emotional, school, family challenges or a diagnosis such as ADHD.
I understand that parenting is challenging! It's not uncommon for parents to desire support for any number of reasons. It can be empowering to work with someone in navigating parenting and a busy family life. As a mother of 3 children between the ages of 12 and 20, I have an inside view of family life in many life stages, as well as family life with neuro divergent family members.
