About me
I am an experienced therapist who is dedicated to helping adults cope with depression, anxiety, grief, neurodivergence, gender issues and pressures, binge-eating, and phobias. Along with that, I work with adult children of hoarders and emotionally immature parents, and religious trauma.
I am from the Midwest where we are warm, yet direct. Even online, it is my goal to make you feel welcome in the virtual space! Because I am direct--yet compassionate--this is your journey, after all; I encourage my clients to move forward with a plan we both create. I rely on evidence-based treatment such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and modern mindfulness (realistic mindfulness for the busy, modern mindset), journaling, ecopsychology may be used. I like to utilize both science and creativity depending on the individual personality of the client, Please know, I understand most people with neurodivergence do not like homework! That's ok, we can work around that. What we can do is examine unhealthy behaviors and explore new skills and ways of thinking that empower you to have more self-confidence and less intrusive and anxious thoughts.
