About me
Something is off in your relationship, your body, or your sense of yourself, and you're done pretending it isn't. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Sex Therapist with over two decades of somatic and bodywork practice. I specialize in trauma, relationships, sexuality, and intimacy. I don't flinch, and I don't rush.
You're here because something needs to change, in your relationship, your body, or your sense of yourself. Maybe it's a rupture you can't repair on your own. Maybe it's a disconnection in your sex life, or something older that's been running underneath everything. Whatever brought you here, you're looking at someone who can sit with all of it.
That's what I do.
I'm Kate Lemoine, founder of The Intimacy Practice in Lafayette, Louisiana. I'm a trauma therapist specializing in relationships, sex, and the Self. My work is rooted in somatic and systems theory, meaning I pay close attention to how your experiences live not just in your mind, but in your body. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 15 years as a bodywork practitioner, and that foundation shapes a great deal about how I work. We won't just talk about what happened. We'll work with how it landed and where it still lives.
I work with individuals and couples navigating attachment wounds, relational rupture, infidelity, sexual disconnection and dysfunction, identity, and the long reach of trauma, AND those seeking to expand their experience as a sexual being.. I am trained in EMDR and in Gottman Level II Couples Therapy. As a sex therapist and AASECT member, I address the full spectrum of sexual concerns, such as function, pleasure, identity, development, and sexuality across communities, including the LGBTQIA+ population.
My clients tend to say that I'm direct, I'm steady, and I'm not performing neutrality.
I come to this work as a fellow traveler; collaborative, grounded, and not afraid of your pain.
I both believe and believe in my clients.
I offer in-person sessions at 143 Ridgeway Dr., Lafayette, LA 70503, and telehealth across the state of Louisiana. I do not accept insurance but can provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement.
