About me

I have experience in treating depression/anxiety, Bipolar, situational adjustment, family and anger issues, life transitions, trauma and  improving parenting skills. I use specific modalities when working with families Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Positive Parenting Program (Triple P).

I have received my B.A. in Psychology at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and M.A. in Social Work at California State University at Northridge. Since graduating, I have practiced both in California and Louisiana in Community-based mental health, WRAP-around services, hospital and Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) settings.
I have specialized in working with children, teens and families since the beginning of my graduate studies. My specialized approach consists of meeting clients and families where they are at, helping with emotional dysregulation,  setting goals and healthy boundaries, improving accountability and self-confidence. Teenage years are important in a sense that a young person is beginning to enter adulthood, having to develop adult coping and communication skills, begin to envision their future and encounter their first challenges independently. Access to adequate support and guidance during teenage years is the difference between a well-adjusted and thriving adult and a person who is not able to meet responsibilities of adult life.
