About me
Are you struggling with anxiety or panic?
If you are a young professional, struggling with anxiety in spite of your success, I could be the right therapist for you.
About a decade and a half ago, while specializing in stress management, clients struggling with anxiety started contacting me and working with me. Since then, I have shifted my focus to make anxiety my area of specialty.
Most of the continuing education courses I take are focused on understanding and treating anxiety. Most recently, there is a lot of brain research which adds to the understanding of anxiety. This brain research confirms a lot of the standard protocols but explains why it works and also tweaks it and modernizes it.
For example, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is considered the gold standard in treating anxiety. It is done a little differently with the new understanding of how the brain works. It also stresses that relaxation and stress management strategies are very important.
Most of my clients are young men and women. They are successful professionally, yet struggle with anxiety. I am an older therapist who struggled in my younger days. It was a wise old therapist who helped me get a perspective on my life. I enjoy supporting the current generation of young adults.
I offer sessions through phone or video, and in person, through Walk and Talk Therapy (when the weather is nice).
Walk and Talk has been shown to have the triple benefits of therapy, nature, and movement. Each of these is beneficial on their own and the combination only adds to it.
My office building is right next to the water. For Walk and Talk, we meet outside and start walking. You have a choice of blue space (staying along the marina) or green space (walking to the park among the greenery trees) or both.
Many people find Walking and Talking more relaxing and they feel more open to easily discuss their issues and brainstorm with their therapist on their best solutions.
