I am a licensed mental health counselor with a heart for helping people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, anger, and stresses that seem overwhelming.

I am a bit of a latecomer to the counseling profession as I chose to deal with the issues in my own life prior to studying counseling. The experience of being a client first has proved invaluable in my ability to relate to what it is like to receive counseling. A lot has changed in treating mental health issues, thanks to the research on the brain and how it functions. I offer my clients a multifaceted approach to treatment integrating mind, body, spirit, attachment needs, and environmental influences into a client's treatment protocol. Initially, my practice treated primarily trauma and PTSD. My observations informed me of the need to address other areas as well, such as interpersonal relationships, strategies designed to help clients understand themselves better (by providing them with information through a holistic perspective because none of us developed or live in a microcosm), and skills to break free from unhelpful patterns as more helpful patterns are developed and strengthened. My work with the Christian population is based on therapeutic skills and principles that are Biblically rooted and nondenominational. All clients, regardless of differences that often set people apart, will be treated with care, dignity, and respect.
