About me
I'm a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor dedicated to helping teens and young women who struggle with disordered eating, body image, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anxiety.
Do you ever feel like you're both “too much” and “not enough” at the same time? Maybe you're the high-achiever, the helper, or the person everyone relies on. You work hard, care deeply, and try to do things the “right” way—but underneath it all, you're overwhelmed, overthinking, or exhausted from trying to hold everything together.
Maybe food and your body have become a source of stress, guilt, or frustration. Maybe you're tired of constantly thinking about what you ate, what you “should” eat, how your body looks, or whether you've done enough. Or perhaps you're dealing with intrusive thoughts, compulsions, reassurance-seeking, or anxiety that makes it difficult to relax and be present. You may know that these patterns are taking up too much space in your life, but feel unsure how to step out of them.
I'm Kaeli, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) offering virtual therapy to teens and adults throughout California and Arizona. I specialize in body image, disordered eating, eating disorders, OCD, and anxiety, and I especially enjoy working with women and young adults. I also work with concerns like perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-criticism, low self-worth, social anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to constantly do or be more.
My approach is warm, genuine, and collaborative. I don't believe therapy should feel like you're sitting across from someone who is simply telling you what you need to do. Even though you may feel disconnected from yourself at times, you know yourself better than anyone. My role is to help you better understand what's keeping you stuck, develop the skills to respond differently, and create meaningful change that feels authentic to you.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and humanistic approaches. Depending on what you're working through, therapy might involve challenging rigid beliefs, learning to tolerate uncertainty, breaking free from obsessive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, and reassurance-seeking, working through food and body image concerns, or practicing how to treat yourself with more compassion.
When working with eating and body image concerns, my goal isn't to help you become better at dieting, controlling your food, or changing your body. It's to help you develop a healthier and more trusting relationship with food and your body, so that these things can take up less mental space in your life. Similarly, with OCD and anxiety, we're not trying to eliminate every uncomfortable thought or feeling. Instead, we'll work toward having more freedom to live your life without anxiety calling all the shots.
I especially value working with clients who feel ready for change but may be feel stuck, uncertain, or afraid of how to move forward (change is scary!). You don't have to be perfectly motivated or have everything figured out before starting therapy. We can start exactly where you are.
I also understand that many of the people I work with are used to being successful on the outside while privately struggling. You may be getting good grades, succeeding at work, showing up for your relationships, and taking care of everyone around you while feeling anxious, exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. Therapy can be a space where you don't have to perform, achieve, or have the right answer.
Ultimately, I want therapy to help you create more freedom: freedom to eat without guilt, exist in your body without constantly judging it, experience uncertainty without needing to solve everything, set boundaries without overwhelming guilt, and make choices based on what matters to you rather than what anxiety or self-criticism tells you that you “should” do.
Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you're someone who is used to handling things on your own. My hope is that our work together feels approachable, supportive, and like a place where you can be your whole self. You don't need to have the perfect words or know exactly what you need before we begin—we can figure that out together.
