About me
Patients who come to seek treatment from me are often looking for a safe space and empathic, accepting environment to work through loneliness, sadness, depression, anxiety, self esteem and relationship struggles that have been either life-long or situational. I work with patients who are interested in the safety and trust of a therapy relationship that offers in-depth exploration of emotional and relational issues, gaining insight into the underlying causes of symptoms and patterns, ultimately developing a better relationship to self and others.
In practicing psychotherapy for over 25 years I have had the great privilege offering an empathic safe space and secure therapeutic relationship for patients to feel seen, heard, and deeply understood. The specific nature of the therapy relationship allows for all aspects of the self to feel welcomed and accepted, the space to process complex life experiences, a safe resting place for the expression of emotions, and ultimately to find healing and freedom from deeply held emotional, psychological, and relational wounds.
Patients who come to seek treatment from me are often looking for an empathic and secure therapeutic connection so as to work through issues as loneliness/ isolation, sadness/ depression, worry/ anxiety, early developmental trauma and neglect, attachment/intimacy related issues, situational traumas, general relational difficulties, and self-esteem related struggles that have been either life long or short term.
My psychotherapy approach is informed from a developmental, relational and intersubjective psychoanalytic frame of reference that allows for mutual exploration, insight/awareness and working through emotions, relational patterns, and other areas of concern.
In addition to psychoanalysis, and general psychotherapy, I offer insight oriented mindfulness meditation practice as a means to feel more emotionally present and connected to the self, body and mind, and more connected to life in general so as to strengthen living fully in the present moment.
As a trauma informed therapist I integrate somatically informed treatment as well as dialectical behavioral skills with psychodynamic and relationally focused psychoanalytic talk therapy.
