About me

I’m a clinical psychologist specializing in emotional resilience, self-leadership, and communication—helping high-achieving individuals, including executives and professionals, navigate inner criticism, strengthen relationships, and thrive. My approach integrates evidence-based psychology with functional medicine insights for whole-person wellbeing.

I’m Dr. Julia Renedo, a licensed clinical psychologist and executive coach with more than 15 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and leaders in navigating complexity—internally and externally. My work centers on helping people move beyond overthinking, self-doubt, and burnout, and toward clarity, alignment, and meaningful change.

I work with individuals who are smart, driven, and often incredibly hard on themselves. Many of my clients are high achievers—executives, professionals, creatives—who appear successful on the outside but feel stuck, disconnected, or emotionally depleted underneath. They struggle with the pressure to do more, to be more, all while battling an inner voice that tells them it’s still not enough. My role is to help them pause, get curious, and build a more intentional, compassionate relationship with themselves and others.

My approach is direct, warm, and collaborative. I don’t just listen—I engage. I help you untangle what’s happening internally, identify unhelpful patterns, and reconnect with your core values. Whether you’re facing a personal crisis, professional crossroads, or long-standing internal conflict, I bring evidence-based tools, psychological insight, and real-world perspective to the work. Together, we create space for growth—grounded, practical, and lasting.

In my clinical practice, I offer both in-person and remote therapy for adults and couples across New York and California. I specialize in emotional regulation, relational dynamics, life transitions, and communication issues. My work is grounded in a whole-person framework that integrates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and relational psychodynamic theory, alongside insights from functional medicine, nutritional psychiatry, and neuroscience. This integrative model allows us to look not just at your thoughts and emotions, but at how your body, environment, and habits influence your mental wellbeing.

Much of my work also centers on communication—helping clients speak more clearly and authentically, navigate conflict with confidence, and strengthen the quality of their relationships. Whether we’re addressing a difficult dynamic at home or exploring your leadership style under pressure, we work toward the same goal: greater clarity, more effective connection, and a deeper sense of alignment in how you live and lead.

In parallel with my private practice, I lead a consultancy focused on executive psychology and organizational wellbeing. Drawing from more than three decades of combined experience in luxury retail and clinical psychology, I help organizations improve communication, build psychological safety, and navigate cultural and leadership transitions. My work with teams and executives is rooted in the same principles as my clinical work: presence, clarity, and the capacity to respond rather than react.

Clients often come to me when they’re at a crossroads—wrestling with identity, purpose, or change. Some are managing conflict or grief. Others are trying to move through self-doubt or imposter syndrome. In every case, I offer an approach that’s structured but flexible, goal-oriented yet deeply human.

My work has been featured in national outlets such as NBC News and Yahoo Life, where I’ve contributed expertise on emotional regulation, relationship patterns, and mental performance. These conversations reflect the core of my philosophy: that lasting transformation comes from understanding how we function—cognitively, emotionally, physically—and using that awareness to make deliberate, values-driven choices.

If you’re considering therapy or consultation, I offer complimentary calls to help you explore whether we’re a good fit. Whether you’re seeking change on a personal or professional level, I offer a grounded, integrative approach designed to help you move forward—with insight, intention, and momentum.
