About me

I am a highly skilled trauma specialist who specializes in both sensorimotor and EMDR therapies. These skills are very effective managing PTSD, anxiety, depression and personality disorders. Furthermore, I have developed a very effective skill set dealing with bullies using my extensive experience counseling clients dealing with this issues and empowering them.

My training as a trauma therapist includes specializing in EMDR, ego state and sensorimotor therapies in addition to having extensive knowledge and experience working with childhood trauma. These skills have trained me to be proficient in assessing clients and tailoring treatment for each patient according to his/her specific needs. A client who is unable to handle his/her trauma, is provided with treatment that focuses on resourcing and building self regulation skills that simultaneously increases the client's window of tolerance. These skills will eventually provide the patient with the necessary tools needed for deeper work and the issues are not addressed until the client is capable of remaining regulated while processing the trauma. In addition, I facilitate the client in processing issues and monitor his/her tolerance and resource the client when he/she exhibit symptoms of dysregulation. Since each session deals with part of the issue, the client is less likely to become overwhelmed since it is easier for the client to remain regulated and the therapist is able to notice immediately when a client is becoming dysregulated. Gradually processing trauma concentrates on part of the trauma that helps minimize dysregulating the patient with its full impact. Therefore the patient is more likely to remain regulated while he/she safely processes the traumatic event and/or painful childhood/adulthood history in a safe and nurturing environment. I have been counseling clients ranging from 6 years to senior citizens in agencies, schools and private practice. Furthermore, I offer therapy either in-person or online so that I am able to tailor my sessions to meet the needs of the particular patient. In addition to EMDR and sensorimotor therapies, I use sand tray therapy for clients who are seen in person in conjunction with sensorimotor and EMDR. My extensive life experience dealing with families provides me the necessary insight and perspective needed when dealing with children, parents and spouses. These experiences helped me compose a skill set that helps people deal with bullies, whether the bully is a narcissistic spouse or a child who is being bullied in school. These tools have empowered my clients and boosted their self-confidence which subsequently cured any lingering social anxiety. Furthermore, I empower my clients who suffer from social anxiety with additional social skills so that they are able to relinquish their fears and have an easier time succeeding in their endeavors. I help both people who suffer from personality disorders or clients who are dealing with close relatives suffering from a personality disorder manage alleviate the stress and protect them from vicarious trauma resulting from such stress. I am available to meet in person twice a week in a totally confidential setting. I am licensed in both New York and New Jersey. You may contact me directly by phone or throught texting and email.
