About me
I work with adolescents, adults, and couples helping them overcome depression, anxiety, relationship issues, adjustment to life transitions, blended families, and parenting issues, to name a few. My ability to listen and to provide empathy come from a genuine place of wanting to help others. My life's purpose is to be a resource for individuals who may be suffering.
I offer in person therapy in Brighton Michigan and virtual therapy all across the state of Michigan. I'm a graduate of the Michigan School of Psychology. I am a father of four and I love the work that I do.
My philosophy is that often, our past experiences leave us wounded. The story that we tell ourselves becomes permeated with negative thoughts, low self-worth, and shame. As these feelings manifest, we become anxious and depressed. We might experience isolation, loneliness, and a loss of connection to others and to ourselves. Therapy can help us discover perspectives that create a new narrative, one in which we have different ways to manage our emotions and lead a more enjoyable life. I would love to be your partner in this journey.
Psychotherapy can be an effective tool in providing you with the necessary support and training to overcome the challenges you face. By seeking therapy, you are taking responsibility and action to change what no longer works in your life. Many studies have shown throughout the years that psychotherapy is an effective form of treating and managing mental illnesses and other emotional disorders.
As an experienced psychologist, it is my honor to assist you in exploring your core issues and move toward a healthy, fulfilling life. Utilizing a variety of approaches including Biopsychosocial, Cognitive/Cognitive-Behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Existential/Humanistic, Gestalt, Gottman Method, Imago Relationship Therapy, Interpersonal, Person-Centered, Psychoeducational, Schema Therapy, I will work with you to create a treatment plan that is customized to meet your unique circumstances.
With honesty and compassion I will work with you to create an open channel of communication. The goal of our therapy sessions together, will be to help you develop the mental fortitude needed to lead a successful life. Additionally, we will work on the skill of self-compassion, which will allow you to move more easily through difficult times in the future, as wells as become a more productive and happier person.
