About me
Greetings! I have had the opportunity to work in the counseling field for 32 years and my desire to help, learn and share has remained strong. My experiences have seen me working with families, youth and adults in a variety of issues. From family preservation and individual life issues, adults and youths involved in judicial system(s), victims of sexual assault, to working with people marginalized in society due to some identified stigma.
As a retired military veteran, I have a unique understanding of the pressures of military life, as well as veteran life. Also, as a man of color, I appreciate the challenges that marginalized people experience in the lives. I have worked within the Judicial system with families and individuals from incarceration to post-incarceration, individual work, and group work, with victims of sexual assault, as well as with people that are experiencing stresses with various parts of their life.
My approach, to the therapeutic process, is to be considerate, thoughtful and respectful. I encourage (team) work, effective and honest communication, as well as, a commitment to addressing issues in a manner that allows for surviving and thriving in life. My life motto is " We don't have a second chance at .... Now."
I wish you the best!
