It is the belief of this therapist, and I am not alone, that all addicts and many mental health
disorders begin with childhood trauma. The mission of Healed Hearts is to heal the trauma
that is the catalyst for your suffering. Trauma Healed does not just educate you on trauma, it
is the goal to heal the trauma and restore you to the beautiful person God created you to be.

My name is John Michael Weber, EdS., MA LCDC, ORDM and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Those fancy credentials at the end of my name spell out that I have a doctorate in traumatology, a master’s level licensed chemical dependency counselor, and I am an ordained chaplain. What it doesn’t say is that I spent 30 years as an active addict.
When I was 3 years old I was traumatized, which means for 40 years I was walking around with post-traumatic syndrome. My coping with the chaos in my heart soul and mind became alcohol and ended on heroin. After years of going to 12 step programs and relapsing over and over, 20 plus years ago I found myself in a West Baltimore alley with absolutely nothing and no one to call except God, which I did with three words “God Help me!” Ultimately it was a mission called “The Helping Up Mission” and a therapist, that saved my life. I had always dodged therapy but this one kept my attention and led me through the
darkness of my childhood in a safe comfortable setting. Today I am Blessed beyond belief, with two forgiving and wonderful daughters who blessed me with six amazing grandkids. I have been working in the field of addiction for many years after spending seven years as a
youth minister. All of this I mention not to brag, but to hopefully get across the message that you too can be healed and have a blessed life. That doctorate I mentioned I received this year from Liberty University, and I am currently 67 years old. My passion is to restore hope in others that may have lost theirs.
