About me

Licensed counselor experienced in helping adults with a variety of mental health concerns, including trauma, anxiety, stress, relationships, life changes, men’s issues, and addiction.

I believe each of us has our own unique journey through life. We are constantly growing, changing, and developing. Sometimes, we need help facing obstacles that block our progress or threaten our wellbeing. My role is to help you identify those roadblocks and get over, around, or through them. I want to see your life from your perspective so I can accompany you in exploring who you are, where you have been, and who you want to become. Growth and change can be tough, but you don’t have to face them alone. Together, we can develop clarity, confidence, and insight to help you achieve a better life.

I will provide a safe, supportive, and comfortable space for you to share your private thoughts, feelings, and desires, without fear of judgment or rejection. I am open-minded, sensitive to multicultural concerns, and comfortable working with people from all walks of life, including diverse religions, races, orientations, ages, education levels, and socioeconomic situations. I have served veterans, college students, felons, seasoned professionals, and other adults of all ages.

My therapeutic approach is compassionate, collaborative, and confidential. I encourage open and honest exploration. I will challenge you to dig deeper to learn more about who you are and what you need. I will support you in facing difficult situations, exploring new ways of thinking, and determining new goals. I will be your coach, critic, and cheerleader to help you change and improve your life.

Before joining Healing Tree, I worked in substance use disorder treatment centers where I helped clients identify and process past traumas and develop coping skills to aid in their recovery from addiction and other mental health concerns. Before that, I had a career in higher education administration in which I served students, faculty, and university staff in a variety of capacities, including advisor, instructor, and supervisor. I earned my Master of Science degree in Counseling and Human Development at Radford University and my Bachelor of Arts degree at the College of William & Mary.
