About me
I am an experienced marriage and family therapist who is dedicated to helping individuals, adolescents through adults, on their relationships and communication among family members, build skills and learn strategies to manage symptoms related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, mood dysregulation, life transitions, grief, and heal from trauma. Book with me now by clicking on my website.
I have been working with children and adolescents for 28 years, 18 years in the school setting and 10 years in the therapeutic setting as a therapist, working with at-risk youth and their families and individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, anger, trauma, grief, life transitions, and much more.
I have been married 32 years, have 5 children, and 4 grandchildren. All five of my children have ADHD; my two youngest having combination presentation, making it even more difficult for them to understand and manage social interactions, manage emotions, and manage healthy relationships. My youngest son is autistic in addition to having ADHD, but is high functioning as he learned skills and strategies early, since we had learned he needed a lot of intervention to manage his emotions in appropriate ways. I was not diagnosed with ADHD until I was in my mid-40’s. Why are those life details important?…I do what I do what I do, not because I have it figured out or because I have all the answers, but because I have lived it and continue living it.
I assess, diagnose, and do therapy with individuals having difficulty with anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger issues, life transitions, grief, family/relationship and communication problems, and more.
