About me
I am a licensed professional counselor helping adults heal from trauma, quiet their inner critic, and build greater self-trust and healthier relationships.
You may be the person others count on while privately struggling with self-doubt, anxiety, or the feeling that you’re never doing enough. Perhaps painful experiences still shape how you see yourself, or patterns in your relationships leave you feeling disconnected. Therapy offers space to understand those experiences and begin making changes that matter to you.
I’m Jodi Bates, a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Through Vibrant Living Coaching, Counseling & Consulting, I support adults navigating trauma, shame, perfectionism, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I also work with sexual addiction recovery and betrayal trauma, creating space for honest conversations about issues that can feel difficult to name.
My approach is warm, direct, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I bring a steady, grounded presence and respect for your pace. Together, we’ll explore what’s keeping you stuck, recognize patterns that once helped you cope, and develop practical ways to respond with greater awareness and choice. I draw on acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion to support this work.
You don’t have to arrive with the right words or a clear plan. We can begin with what feels hardest right now and work toward greater self-trust, healthier relationships, and a life that reflects what matters to you.
I have experience not only as a clinician and coach, but also in human resources and people operations. I am passionate about health and wellness and believe in taking a holistic approach to helping others.
My theoretical orientation is a blend of person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and existential therapy approaches.
