About me
Are you feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start in taking steps towards change? I can help! I am an LCSW in Pennsylvania with over 15 years of experience working with a variety of diagnoses with special focus on anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. My practice is trauma informed and person centered.
My work in community mental health for over 15 years has provided me with experience with all types of individuals and presenting concerns. This has fostered flexibility and the ability to see each client as an individual beyond any diagnosis or current struggle. My goal is to provide a space where you can feel safe to be yourself so together we can develop skills that you can take with you beyond the therapy room. I believe by improving your relationship with yourself, you can improve your interactions with the world and overall emotional functioning. I believe that everyone is valuable and possesses inherent strengths. Whether we are able to effectively utilize these strengths is often where we get tripped up. By tapping into and making the most of these strengths, we can regain a sense of control and safety in our everyday lives.
Unsure what to expect in treatment? During work with clients, I strive to create a relationship and environment where you can feel safe and supported. We will work at your pace and comfort level to reach your specific needs and goals. Your initial session will consist of some basic information gathering and exploration as to your desires for your life and functioning. Together we will set specific goals and develop a plan to achieve them. The approach to therapy is as unique as you. I pull from a variety of methodologies such as CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Emotions-Focused, Strength Based, and Solutions Focused to tailor a treatment plan that addresses your individual needs and goals for mental health treatment. Sessions can be held anywhere from weekly to monthly depending on your personal needs and situation.
