About me
I am a bilingual Licensed Master Social Worker with 18 years of experience dedicated to helping adolescents, couples, and families navigate anxiety, depression, oppositional defiant disorder, and anger management challenges — providing culturally humble, evidence-based care that supports healing, strengthens relationships, and addresses co-occurring substance use concerns.
I am Joan Michelle Cordero, a Licensed Master Social Worker and the founder of Amare Integrated Clinical Services. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish, and I am deeply committed to providing a space where you and your family feel seen, respected, and genuinely supported. My work centers on adolescents, couples, and families who are navigating some of life's most difficult seasons — anxiety, depression, anger, relationship conflict, family disconnection, and the unique challenges that come with raising or being a young person in today's world. I also work with individuals managing co-occurring substance use concerns alongside their mental health. I bring 18 years of experience in behavioral health, including work in child welfare, protective services, crisis intervention, and outpatient clinical care. What that experience has taught me is that healing rarely happens in a straight line — and that the most important thing a therapist can offer is consistency, honesty, and a genuine belief in your capacity to grow. My approach is collaborative and evidence-based. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Seeking Safety — always tailoring the approach to what fits you best, not the other way around. Sessions feel like a conversation, not a checklist. If you are a parent who is worried about your teenager and does not know where to turn — I understand. If you are a couple who has tried to work things out alone and needs a neutral, supportive guide — I am here. If you are a young person who feels like no one quite gets it — this is a space built for you.
I offer telehealth services throughout Arizona, making quality care accessible no matter where you live. Whether you are in a rural community, a busy city, or somewhere in between — you deserve support that meets you where you are. I look forward to walking alongside you.
