About me

Hi, I’m Jill Yerkes, a licensed clinical social worker in Illinois with over 30 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges.

Mid‑life can bring a lot of change—some expected, some not. You may be balancing caregiving, noticing shifts in relationships or your body, or quietly wondering what comes next for you. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to focus on yourself again, therapy can help.

I work with women in mid‑life and later mid‑life who want a supportive place to talk things through, gain perspective, and make sense of this season of life. I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can show up exactly as you are—no fixing, no pressure.

In our work together, I help women navigate anxiety, low mood, life transitions, relationship changes, grief, and questions of identity or purpose. My approach is collaborative, down‑to‑earth, and grounded in respect for the experience and wisdom you already bring.

I work with women who are navigating:

Life transitions such as menopause, aging, retirement, or shifting family roles
Relationship changes, including empty nesting, divorce, or evolving partnerships
Caregiver stress, grief, and loss
Anxiety, low mood, or feelings of being overwhelmed
Questions of identity, purpose, and self‑worth in the second half of life
Therapy is not about “fixing” you—it’s about creating space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself.

Mid‑life isn’t just about getting through—it can be a time of growth, clarity, and renewed connection with yourself. I’d be honored to walk alongside you as you explore what you want this next chapter to look like.
