About me
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Professional and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, I am dedicated to helping adult men and women address their mental health and substance use issues and live more fulfilling lives. Mental health treatment areas include: anxiety, depression, grief. Substance use treatment areas include: assessment, psychoeducation, relapse prevention and recovery. Modalities include: individual, group, couples and families. Provide both in-office and virtual sessions.
Over fifty years of experience in providing individual, group, couples, and family mental health and substance abuse counseling to those served by private and community mental health and substance abuse treatment agencies. Have trained and supervised graduate and undergraduate level interns and agency clinical staff since 1970. Have taught both undergraduate and graduate level counseling and psychology courses at community colleges, four-year institutions and graduate schools. Approved by the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide clinical supervision to post-graduate Residents-in-Counseling in pursuit of Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure. Evidenced-based clinical approaches are utilized. Utilize a holistic recovery approach. I am an approved ASAM evaluator and treatment provider by the Commonwealth of Virginia VASAP/ASAP.
