About me
Clients I work with are experiencing issues related to loss of loved ones, job changes, declining independence, and retirement. These changes often lead to feelings of grief, identity loss, and uncertainty about the future. I offer clients a space to explore their goals, address age-related concerns, and enhance their well-being, all while fostering independence and motivation. Individuals can explore their feelings, redefine their sense of purpose, and develop new goals, ultimately enhancing their overall well-being and quality of life during this phase of life.
I provide compassionate, personalized care using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Grief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help identify individuals thought patterns and promote adaptive thinking, and to navigate challenges, maintain motivation, and cultivate strength, gratitude and optimism. These are key factors to building resilience and strength.
I have 30 years of experience helping individuals and families. I have 18 years of experience working in the hospice and bereavement field, and facilitating a variety of therapeutic groups. I'm licensed in both CA and VA.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to identify and reframe negative thought patterns and promote healthy behaviors. I also use Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centered Therapy to explore feelings and experiences to help guide you to find the right solutions while building self-awareness. We'll enhance your motivation and build on your personal strengths with compassionate, holistic care.
I work with clients to help them adjust to a new routine after retirement, losing a loved one, and changes in independence. We will address these feelings of sadness and isolation, and explore ways to foster meaning, connection and joy during this stage of life. The majority of my clients will see a gradual lifting of symptoms and self value within a short period of working together.
