About me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has a love for learning, a passion for working with people, and I believe there is healing power in a person's story.
I utilize an integrative approach within the therapeutic environment which includes mindfulness skills, behavioral techniques, grief and trauma based approaches, and interpersonal skills with a focus on drawing from the client's strengths to help individuals become empowered by telling their story. I enjoy the outdoors and will use visuals from nature in the counseling environment. I am grateful for all who have touched my life over the 18 plus years that I have been working as a therapist.
After graduating with a degree in human services from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota, I obtained my degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Sioux Falls Seminary in South Dakota. My experience includes working with a diverse population including individuals, couples, children, adolescents, teens, and families on a variety of issues such as anxiety, grief, depression, abuse, trauma, domestic violence, stress management, relationships, communication and other areas as a client needs.
I provide insurance based counseling services in person and via telehealth. I am licensed to serve client in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Specialities include anxiety, anger, ADHD, communication, depression, stress management, self-esteem and self-confidence, divorce, domestic violence, trauma, grief, PTSD-Post Traumatic Stress, couple and family relationships and parenting.
