About me
I specialize in neurodivergence in adulthood, women's mental health, and chronic health/ disability populations. Essentially, I help individuals find ways to thrive in a world not designed by or for them. I have been in social services for over 20 years, and a social worker for 15 years.
I am a neurodivergent spoonie social worker with teenage twins. As a result I have dedicated my life to learning how to make sense of a world designed for able bodied, neurotypical, CIS, white men, and how to thrive in this world as not that; along with helping my kids in their journey of self discovery. My passion is in helping others that are also experiencing this struggle make sense of their world, and overcome the barriers without masking or hiding the self. The goal is not to make the self disappear "cured " or to fit in, but to find the right community to belong and be one's true self. A piece of this is learning how to feel (or acknowledge the feelings), to see that those feelings and experiences are exactly what they are supposed to be (nothing to be ashamed of), and how to let these feelings and experiences be what they need to be, while still living a life within your values. I dedicate a significant portion of my time in session to psycho-education (teaching) with the hope that one day, you will have all the knowledge I have, and I work myself out a job.
