About me
I am a licensed mental health therapist who works with adults and children offering compassionate, client-centered therapy in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, anger, substance use, personality disorders, and trauma. My approach is collaborative, holistic, and down to earth integrating evidence-based therapy with the understanding of how emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational factors intersect.
Therapy shouldn't be scary or intimidating! I believe therapy is a place to step back, reflect, and restore balance in the midst of life's challenges. This process looks different for everyone and finding a perfect path to your healing is my goal! I promise to provide a calm, peaceful presence in our sessions while valuing your unique needs, experiences, and expectations. My experience come from a variety of settings, including community agencies, ministry-based support, and private practice. I believe this background, along with personal experiences, have allowed me to learn how to create a structured but flexible space for clients to gain practical tools, emotional support, and relational guidance to life's unexpected and difficult times. Finally, I believe every person deserves a space where they can be heard. A person shouldn't have to feel like no one cares, no one understands, or there's no help available; everyone is welcome here.
I have a Master's of Science degree in clinical psychology and mental health counseling, with specific training and certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-CBT, EMDR, Personality Disorders, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Grief Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and Somatic Therapy. Additionally, I have been working with children as young as five to older adult clients facing a variety of individual issues, as well as couples and families going through differing difficult experiences. Mood disorders, anxieties and phobias, addiction/substance use, personality disorders, physical and emotional trauma, and behavioral issues are just a few areas I have helped clients navigate in my time as a therapist. However, not all clients seek counseling because of these issues. Sometimes people have a difficult time adjusting to changes whether in the moment or upcoming. Grieving the loss of a loved one can also be very difficult. Everyone processes life's events differently and being able to receive an unbiased and safe space to discuss the "stuff" that is causing distress and learning effective tools to navigate life's ups and downs are crucial to finding peace within the storm.
