About me

I am an pre-licensed therapist with extensive background in working in public and non-profit organizations, particularly with first responders and military connected individuals. I am now committed to helping these high-achieving professionals or retirees address a continuum of issues spanning from trauma and burnout, to anxiety and depression and all life events in between.

There is so much going on in the world; it is easy to feel overwhelmed, stressed, or burnt out - sometimes even hopeless. Maybe its time to focus on YOU for a minute and take some time to identify stressors, sort out and name emotions, and upgrade coping strategies? In our fast paced lives and professions, it can feel impossible to slow down and identify what is going on with us even as we are eating poorly, stressing about money, not getting enough quality sleeping, feeling irritable, or having difficulty in relationships. Thin Line Counseling is place that you can take the time to necessary to address these issues at your pace. Our team has years of both lived and professional experience working with those connected to the military, and public safety / first responder, and non-profit/community organizations (and their families). We understand that years of dealing with the pressures of taking care of others sometimes means it has become difficult to take care of yourself - a recipe for symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic and PTSD. Our goal is support you as you navigate the challenges and to help provide additional tools and resources to keep you healthy throughout your career and into a healthy and happy retirement.

I have spent the last 20 years in non-profit organizations, working closely with first responder and public safety personnel. I watched as some of my colleagues moved through their career from an optimistic new patrol officer, to turning into a salty sergeant, and then into burned out command staff, or worse, leaving public safety entirely due to overwhelm and burnout. In 2023, I decided that I wanted to become a licensed therapist so that I could work to help build resilience and endurance in colleagues - and stand with them during their difficult moments - so that they could enjoy a long career serving their communities and be happy and healthy in retirement.

I graduated with my M.Ed in May 2026 and have provided counseling as an intern since 2025. I am now registered in the state of FL with my RMHCI. I offer a calm, supportive (and some might even say humorous) environment in which clients can explore their inner world, face the things they want to change, gain wisdom from their experiences, and become comfortable in their own skin again. I use elements of cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and will be trained in EMDR in November 2026. I create evidence-based treatment plans using a variety of modalities tailored to the needs of each client. Each session is an opportunity to slow down, sit with both the good and the challenging, identify internal strengths, and find ways to accept and cope with difficulties.

I do not claim to have all of the easy answers, but I look forward to partnering with you to help deal with the impacts of trauma, substance use, infidelity, anxiety, depression, complex trauma, marital issues, parenting and more. I have deep competency in law enforcement, fire rescue and military culture. Confidentiality is a top priority at Thin Line Counseling. Feel free to reach out for a no-cost consultation.
