About me
I am a board-certified licensed professional counselor. I earned my Baccalaureate degree in Criminal Justice with an additional major in Psychology at Michigan State University, a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University, and a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University.
Counseling is a process that requires hard work and a commitment from both the counselor and the client. For counseling to be beneficial, it is important that you make a personal commitment to the processes of healing and personal growth. Consistent attendance to regularly scheduled sessions is crucial to the success of the process.
I believe that most situations can be improved by looking at how an individual processes information. I help my clients to look at how their thoughts and perceptions can influence how they react to situations, how this may have an impact on the physical symptoms they feel, and affect their overall emotion.
I am a member of the American Counseling Association, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the World Professional Association of Transgender Health. I have served on the board of the Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE; a division of the American Counseling Association).
