About me
Bilingual English Spanish Licensed Clinical Social Worker looking forward to assisting you with embracing your mental health journey.
I am a bilingual English Spanish psychotherapist who believes that mental health is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle, allowing for personal and spiritual growth. As a Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) woman, my own experiences motivated me to begin my journey as a psychotherapist. I focused on working with culturally diverse communities that may sometimes experience increased stigma around embracing mental health.
With a master’s in social work from Colorado State University in 2015, I have been practicing in the psychotherapy field for more than three years. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, my social work practice centered on the behavioral health care system.
Trauma exposure at different developmental stages and varying levels of intensity is commonly found in our communities. I utilize a trauma-informed approach while working in collaboration with my clients to identify possible barriers to the healing process, explore defense mechanisms, and coping strategies that help promote resilience.
