About me

I am a licensed therapist with experience in working with children and families, couples and individuals. My clients are people who have experienced difficulties in relationship building, managing stress/anxiety, and trauma. I work with people of all ages and backgrounds to help them develop skills at managing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. For people who have experienced traumatic events I work with them to help remove the emotional distress this has caused them. I use a variety of strategies for this including cognitive behavior therapy, EMDR, polyvagal informed techniques and narrative therapy. I have 19 years of experiences working with children and families as well as adults. I provide Parent Child Interaction Therapy as well as working with children to help them learn to manage symptoms of distress. I always expect parents to be involved in their child's treatment.

Hi! I am Jeannie Odachowski, a licensed professional counselor with 19 years of experience in professional counseling and many more in the area of human services. I have been working with children, families, and adults of all ages throughout my career. My practice is offered via telehealth, offering people the opportunity to participate in the process from the comfort of their homes. I am certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), trained in Eye Movement Reprocessing Desensitization (EMDR, for short), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and many other relational therapies. PCIT is an evidence-based practice of working with parents and their child aged 2-7 in order to help the parents become skilled in managing their child’s oppositional behavior and learn consistent ways of disciplining their child in a safe way. EMDR is a treatment modality designed to help survivors of trauma begin to heal on a brain level using brain-based techniques.

Why the Red Door?
Red Doors have been associated with places of sanctuary for weary travelers for hundreds of years. Back in the days of no signage, a red door meant there was a welcoming place of rest for people and sanctuary for those who were troubled. My belief in counseling is that the environment should be welcoming, non-judgmental, and safe for people to be able to share their innermost concerns and sources of pain. While counseling is not a painless experience, the environment and relationship established in the therapeutic process are very important and contribute greatly to the client’s success. To request a free 15-minute consultation, call me at 276-409-8150. I accept a variety of commercial insurances, such at Anthem, Aetna, UHC, Cigna, Beacon, and Oscar.
I look forward to seeing you!
