About me

I provide trauma-informed therapy for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, identity, and life transitions, with specialized care for military and first responder communities, perinatal mental health, and athletes.

You may be the person everyone relies on, the one who keeps showing up, pushes through difficult moments, and makes sure everyone else is okay. But underneath that, you might feel overwhelmed, disconnected, anxious, or unsure of where you fit into your own life. You deserve a space where you don't have to keep holding everything together.

I'm Jasmine Rivera, MS, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, and founder of The Safe State Counseling in Fort Worth, Texas. I work with adults navigating trauma and PTSD, anxiety, stress and burnout, perfectionism, people-pleasing, identity and self-worth, and major life transitions.

As a first-generation Latina, wife of a veteran and first responder, and mother, I understand how culture, family expectations, service, and the roles we carry can influence our experiences. My master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling includes a specialization in Military Families & Culture, and I have additional training in perinatal mental health and trauma treatment.

My approach is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and active. I'm trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and I also incorporate CBT, DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, and somatic and nervous-system-informed approaches. Together, we'll explore what's keeping you stuck, process difficult experiences when appropriate, and develop tools that support meaningful change.

Alongside my general therapy work, I provide focused support for military members, veterans, first responders and their partners; individuals navigating pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, birth trauma, and the transition into parenthood; and athletes and former athletes experiencing mental health challenges, identity shifts, injury, or life after sport. I recognize that each of these experiences comes with its own pressures, expectations, and transitions that deserve thoughtful, individualized care.

I created The Safe State around a simple belief: you shouldn't have to leave important parts of yourself outside the room to be understood. Therapy should be a place where you can feel seen, explore your experiences without judgment, and reconnect with yourself.

I offer individual therapy in English and Spanish, with in-person appointments in Fort Worth and telehealth throughout Texas.
