About me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping diverse adolescents and young adults power through anxiety and lighten life's challenges.
Hey there! I'm Jamie Dock, MS, LPC. I primarily work with pre-teens, teens, and young adults struggling with anxiety and LGBTQ+ related issues,. I enjoy helping clients building functional coping skills, explore how a complicated past impacts present behaviors, and recognize how their strengths bring light to our world. One of the things I value the most in the work is building a trusting therapeutic bond with clients. While establishing and achieving goals help us to move forward, sometimes we just need to feel listened to and understood.
I utilize different approaches and can help you see all the facets of each problem you face. Clients and colleagues have described me as empathetic, warm, and casual. I pride myself in establishing a comforting and compassionate therapeutic relationship while calling out issues where I see them (think "big sister" energy).
I learn the most from my clients. While symptoms and goals may be similar, every client has unique experiences and ways of achieving their desired goals. Each client's distinctive history, experience, and potential to thrive is what fuels my passion for the field of counseling. If you feel ready to pursue your journey to mental wellness, feel free to reach out!
