About me
I am a Durham Native with 4, going on 5, years of experiences helping children, adults, and families with trauma. That includes situational and generational trauma. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed my master’s in counseling at North Carolina A&T State University. I’m a rostered TF-CBT therapist and practice through a trauma-informed lens, helping clients feel safe, seen, and empowered.
If you’re feeling emotionally exhausted, you’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I’d be honored to support you in creating a life that feels more grounded, connected, and aligned with who you are. I take a straightforward yet gentle approach to therapy. I am honest and direct, but always grounded in compassion and respect.
My style is laid-back and approachable, while still maintaining the professionalism and structure needed to support real progress. I believe in meeting people where they are, working together to build on the strengths they already have. My goal is never to change who you are at your core, but to help you grow into the best version of yourself with authenticity, resilience, and self-trust. Therapy with me is flexible and client-centered: sometimes structured, sometimes more conversational, always guided by your needs and goals.
In our first session, I’ll ask some questions to gather background information and get a clearer picture of what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll also talk about your goals, what you’re hoping to get out of the process, and what you can expect from me as your therapist. Most importantly, the focus will be on building rapport, creating a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected as we start to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and understanding.
