About me

I work with individuals struggling to find purpose and meaning in life, whether it involves work or relationships. I also treat individuals suffering from OCD, and anxiety disorders.

Life is hard. We all wish there were easy, pithy answers to our problems. There aren’t. But, there are answers, if we are brave enough to ask the right questions. I believe each of us has the answers to our own suffering. The answer to our search for meaning, purpose, and happiness lives within each of us. My approach to the counseling relationship is based on this belief. I believe my job, above all else, is to help you ask those difficult questions, and live toward the answers. This is hard to do, and it takes time. It will take work on both of our parts. But, it is doable, no matter how unanswerable life’s questions may feel to you right now. If you are interested in changing, in escaping the cycles you’ve felt trapped in, and genuinely exploring new paths forward, we may be a good fit for one another.

In practice, this will look like us getting to know one another, so that we can:
1. Discover whether or not we are a good fit (the most important thing, when it comes to making therapy “work”)
2. Understand, as deeply as possible, the nature and factors contributing to your struggles.

Once we have a preliminary picture of what you are experiencing, we can then work together on formulating goals for therapy- the road-map we will use to measure progress. Goals in therapy can be unwieldy, and need flexibility is important, but, at the same time, they are incredibly necessary. Therapy should have a point- a tangible direction it is pointing towards.

My personal goal is for you, at the end of our therapy, to feel like your life has been tangibly enriched and improved. The nature of this improvement is looks different for everyone. It involves, first, exploring those “questions” I mentioned earlier. I look forward to walking with you towards the answers.
