About me
I am the Owner and CEO of Compassionate Healing Psychotherapy and Consultation, PLLC, and a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arizona. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II) and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CSC), I specialize in complex trauma, PTSD, relational trauma, narcissistic and antagonistic relationships, and mental health concerns. I provide compassionate, culturally responsive therapy services for individuals, couples, and families seeking healing, growth, and emotional wellness.
Welcome — I’m So Glad You’re Here
Have you ever felt weighed down by painful past experiences that continue to affect your relationships, emotions, or sense of self?
Do you struggle with anxiety, trauma, emotional overwhelm, or the lingering effects of narcissistic or emotional abuse?
Perhaps you’ve spent years surviving, people-pleasing, dissociating, over-functioning, or feeling disconnected from yourself — unsure how to finally feel safe, grounded, and whole again.
If so, you are not alone.
At Compassionate Healing Psychotherapy & Consultation (CHPC), we offer a deeply compassionate, trauma-informed space where healing is approached with gentleness, curiosity, and respect for your unique story. We believe therapy is not about “fixing” you — it’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that had to adapt in order to survive.
I’m Iwona Florianowicz, founder of CHPC, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CSC). My work is rooted not only in extensive clinical training, but also in lived understanding of trauma, cultural transition, emotional neglect, and relational wounds.
Originally from Poland, my own journey through complex trauma, immigration, identity shifts, and healing profoundly shaped the therapist I’ve become today. Through both personal healing and professional experience, I came to understand how trauma lives not only in the mind, but also in the nervous system, body, relationships, and sense of identity. That understanding inspired me to create a practice where clients feel deeply seen rather than pathologized.
I specialize in working with individuals and couples navigating:
• Complex PTSD and childhood trauma
• Narcissistic, emotional, and relational abuse
• Anxiety, depression, and chronic emotional overwhelm
• Attachment wounds and abandonment trauma
• Dissociation and nervous system dysregulation
• Identity loss and high sensitivity
• Cultural identity, immigration, and intergenerational trauma
• Relationship struggles and communication difficulties
My approach is integrative, relational, somatic, and trauma-informed. I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs using evidence-based and holistic modalities including:
• EMDR
• Internal Family Systems (IFS)
• Somatic and nervous system-based therapy
• Attachment-focused therapy
• DBT and CBT interventions
• Mindfulness and self-compassion practices
• Compassionate Inquiry
• Culturally responsive and anti-oppressive approaches
I believe healing happens within safe, attuned relationships. Therapy should feel collaborative, empowering, and paced in a way that honors your nervous system and lived experience.
At CHPC, we welcome adolescents, adults, couples, families, LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, and people from all cultural backgrounds. We strive to create an inclusive space where all parts of you are welcome — your pain, your resilience, your identity, your questions, and your humanity.
Whether you are beginning your healing journey or seeking deeper transformational work, you do not have to navigate it alone.
Healing is possible.
You are worthy of support.
And you deserve a space where you can finally exhale.
I would be honored to walk alongside you in your healing journey.
