About me
I am an integrative psychotherapist who combines the science of wellness into my therapeutic practice. Today, there is a menu of mental health therapy approaches, and most are valid. New evidence is arriving, so new approaches are emerging.
I have been practicing as a licensed psychotherapist for 35 years. I also have a PsyD but am not licensed with it. My focus has been on mind/body for many years, so I encourage the use of nutrition, exercise, meditation/mindfulness, and socialization in my practice. We still get to explore your particular challenges. For many years, I worked for a mental health organization that was affiliated with medical centers. This is where I became curious about the mind-body connection . How does a mother who has lost her adult child get sick on the anniversary of his death every year? Learning about areas such as mitochondrial health—the tiny energy centers within our cells—has deepened my appreciation for how nutrition can influence vitality, mood, and overall well-being. I continue to look at evidence-based research on mental health and wellness, in order to offer the best I can to those who come to see me. I am in the office on Mondays and on Telehealth Wednesdays and Thursdays. I have a blog, WellnessMindset.blog, and my website is psychotherapy-by-ita.com. Remember to put in the dashes.
