Welcome! I am a licensed psychologist in the states of Pennsylvania and Delaware. My primary practice, Hugh S. Smith, Ph.D. & Associates (HSSA), specializes in psychological evaluations and individual, family, couples and group therapy. We pride ourselves on our emphasis on collaboration with client, family members and caregivers, schools and agencies in a strengths-based approach to treatment. Our team of caring clinicians works with individuals and families across the lifespan. Together we will navigate your individual struggles and triumphs and create a strength-based treatment plan that empowers you to connect with the hero within.

I was licensed as a psychologist in 1996. My group, Hugh S. Smith, Ph.D. & Associates, P.C. (HSSA) was created in 1998 to meet the growing demand for excellence in psychological services. Comprised of licensed psychologists, psychological evaluators and therapists, HSSA has become a respected name in the community we serve. We are committed to excellence and integrity in the evaluation and treatment of the whole person. We strive to identify the unique strengths of each individual we serve. Our thorough and caring approach considers the roles of family, socio-cultural background, and the environments in which our clients live.
Our trained and caring therapists use a strengths-based approach to explore underlying conflicts and struggles, while empowering improved communication patterns, self-understanding, and coping skills to promote positive growth. We provide individual, couple, family, and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults, and psychological testing services.
