About me
My name is Heather Torres and I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker. I have obtained my Master's in Social Work at USC in 2018. My experience ranges from adolescents to adults, working within corrections, psychiatric inpatient units, outpatient therapy services, residential facilities, drug courts, and private practice. My focus is to provide support to improve your quality of life.
Being compatible with my clients is essential in meeting their needs and supporting meaningful treatment. My goal is to help clients build healthy coping skills to manage the challenges that can arise across major life areas. This supports growth in decision-making, emotional regulation, and self-esteem.
My communication style is warm, supportive, and non-judgmental. I strive to create a safe space where you can feel comfortable being your authentic self. I like to think of myself as your professional best friend, someone you can confide in and trust throughout your mental health journey.
In our first session, I focus on getting to know you, your needs, your thought processes and the reasons you're seeking therapy. We'll explore what you hope to achieve during our work together. This initial session is about building a strong therapeutic rapport, which will deepen as we continue working together
