I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Trauma Professional and trained in EMDR. I am experienced in helping adult survivors of trauma and childhood trauma particularly related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual abuse.

The effects of trauma are varied and can show up as anxiety, depression, dissociation, grief, intrusive negative thoughts, disturbing memories and dreams, engagement in unhealthy relationship patterns, and low self-esteem. As a former educator, I have found that developing an understanding of the effects of trauma on the nervous system is a good way to begin fostering self-compassion, which is the first step in developing resilience and beginning the healing process. I specialize in working with adult trauma survivors, particularly those experiencing PTSD as a result of domestic violence, sexual assault, religious trauma, and survivors of childhood trauma.
